Scott Hallett, Rookie of the Year

Scott went into the Australian Open as a virtual unknown having qualified to enter via the state qualifying process he secured his spot at the northern district darts club alongside Peter Machin and Aaron Morrison and Gary Kennedy

At the Australian Open Scott showed he is a true force in Australian Darts having progressed through the open qualifying rounds and arriving at the quarter-finals facing off against ex World Champion Jelle Klassen.

The match initially looked one-sided with Klassen claiming three of the first four legs, Scott however stayed calm and unflustered to even the game 3-3. Klassen went to 4-3 and then 5-3 after Scott stumbled on double 10. With only one leg left to secure the game Klassen had Scott on the ropes. Scott though had other plans and he kept his nerve and with an incredible display of Darts clutched victory away from the ex world champion.

It was in the semi-final however that Scott was finally stopped on his way to gloryagainst Hupia Puha. Hupia Had to throw a game high average of 90 to beat Scott the final result 8-6 shows that Scott was no walk in the park and this high-quality game could’ve gone either way.

Scott has a WDF ranking number 78 and number 21 in Australia
We at the LCDA all proud of Scott’s achievements and look forward to watching him play at his next tournament
